We took the portal apart and rebuilt it

A new look, a chat on every page, and work that keeps going after you log off. Here's what changed, where things moved, and how to get shown around.

A recruiter's day never runs in the order a system expects. The hiring manager calls about one role while you're halfway through another. A candidate answers an email from last week. The scorecard you need is three clicks from where you are, and the answer to "where do we stand?" is spread across four tabs.

Software tends to grow the other way. Each new feature finds a home wherever there's room, until the product describes what its makers have built more than how anyone works. Ours had started doing that too.

So we took the portal apart and put it back together around a recruiter's actual day. You'll notice the moment you log in. Your jobs and candidates are exactly where you left them, though the menus aren't, so we'll start there.

Where things moved

  • Dashboard is now Home, and Job positions is now Jobs.
  • Each job has its own menu: Candidates, Define, Attract, Analytics and Settings. Screening is its own row above In process.
  • Status, project and people sit in one dropdown on the job's name.
  • Search, filters and sort are in the top line of the page.
  • Menus open when you click, not when you hover.
  • Settings is one menu, with your own settings first.
  • Talent Pool holds Candidates, AI search, Imports and Data retention, and Meetings holds Calendar and Setup.

The changelog has the full list.

It opens on what needs you

Home starts with at most three things: a review backlog, replies nobody has answered, an offer gone quiet, a missing scorecard, an interview in the next 48 hours. You can begin the day there instead of working out where to begin.

⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) brings the same list to every page, and finds any job, candidate or page as you type.

Inside a job, the menu does the same kind of work. It shows how many new candidates are waiting, which parts of the job are set up, where it's live, and what comes next. The candidate board got calmer too. Stage colour is now a dot, and empty stages stay folded until you need them.

Just ask

There's a chat on every page now, behind Ask Vouch, and it knows the job or candidate you have open.

Ask where you stand with a candidate right before a call, and you get the answer with the records beside it. Ask it to compare three people against the scorecard, and they line up side by side. Ask it to write the job post from the brief, and it fills in the page, with each change as its own row that you can leave out or put back.

It writes, you check it, and you save it.

It will do more and more for you from here, and you can still do all your work without it.

What keeps going when you log off

Some of this work never needed you sitting there. Interview notes get written up after the meeting. A CV someone forwards to your sourcing inbox is filed on the right job. Screening reads each application against the scorecard as it arrives, so the ones waiting on Monday morning are already read. If you've set Lookout to keep looking, it goes on searching beyond your talent pool and screens what it finds. And when a candidate replies at 05:30, the reply is logged and waits for you.

None of the decisions move away from you, though the morning now starts with the reading done.

And it is still an ATS

Job posts, scorecards, application forms, stages, publishing, calendars and data retention are all still here, in the same new look, and your team makes the calls. A few more things arrived along the way:

  • Searching your talent pool is free. Full evaluations are unchanged.
  • Job templates. Save a job as a template and choose what to keep: job post, scorecard, application form and stages. Start a new job from one, or copy single parts into any job.
  • Publishing is rebuilt. The link comes first, then where the job is, and one way to publish somewhere new.
  • Job setup has no fixed order. Work on the pages in any order. Publishing needs only a job post.
