English text belowJottacloud er et norsk teknologiselskap i vekst, med omsetning som passerer 100 MNOK innen utgangen av 2024. Vi ser nå etter vår nye CTO, som vil være en sentral rolle i å rigge selskapet for videre skalering.
CTO vil ha ansvaret for hele vår teknologiske strategi og alle på utviklingsteamet. Rollen rapporterer til CEO og inngår i Jottaclouds ledergruppe.
Disse områdene vil være viktige for den CTO vi søker:
Organisering – Strukturere utviklingsteamet for å øke effektivitet, samarbeid og skalerbarhet. Identifisere hindringer og friksjon i måten vi jobber på og implementere nødvendige endringer. Legge langsiktige planer for teamorganisering parallelt med selskapets videre vekst.
Arkitektur – Forstå hvordan våre tjenester er strukturert og kommuniser med hverandre, for å forbedre pålitelighet og skalerbarhet mens vi utvikler nye features og forbedrer eksisterende.
Sikkerhet – Forsterke egenskapene som gjør Jottacloud til en trygg, norsk skylagringstjeneste våre kunder kan stole på. Kontinuerlig overvåkning og rask respons på økende og mer sofistikerte cybertrusler.
Talenter – Etablere prinsipper for å beholde og videreutvikle talentene på teamet, ved å tilby relevante og spennende karrieremuligheter. Stadig rekruttere høyt kvalifiserte folk til selskapet etter hvert som vi vokser.
Business – Jottacloud har en rekke forretningspartnere, med hver sin konfigurasjon av produktet og appene. Dette har en kompleksitet som CTO må mestre både teknisk og kommersielt. Som del av jobben vil man møte både strategiske beslutningstakere og teknisk personell hos våre partnere.
Kvalitet – Forbedre vårt arbeid med QA, prosesser, tidsstyring og prioritering for å sikre at teknisk output i selskapet er robust og av høy kvalitet.
Teknologi – Vurdere hvilken teknologi, programmeringsspråk og rammeverk utviklingsteamene skal bruke, og eventuelle endringer som kan øke produktivitet og kvalitet. Sett teamene i stand til å bruke alle nødvendige og relevante verktøy, og å ta i bruk AI i utvikling av kode.
Koding – Selv om arbeidshverdagen for en CTO skal handle om langsiktige og overordnede saker, kan det innimellom være behov for å hoppe inn i koden eller tekniske diskusjoner om kode. Vi ser etter en kandidat som selv har vært utvikler ikke altfor langt tilbake i tid.
Ledelse – Styre utviklingsteamet i riktig retning og motivere team leads og utviklere til å gi sitt beste for Jottacloud. Vår CTO bør like å jobbe med folk, og løfte andre frem.
Verdikjede – Forbedre arbeidsprosesser og samarbeid mellom utvikling og øvrige funksjoner i selskapet. Spesielt samspillet mellom produkt, teknologi og design.
Skalering – Sikre at vi tenker skalerbarhet på tvers av alle de øvrige punktene, for å preppe selskapet for neste fase av vår vekstreise.

Vi jobber kontinuerlig for å holde tech stacken moderne og relevant. Alle våre apper for Android, iOS, Windows, Mac og Linux er native og bruker de nyeste API-ene. Vår backend er bygget på microservices i Java, Golang og Python, som kommuniserer via Kafka and gRPC. API-ene brukes både av våre egne apper og webapps, som er SPAs bygget fra et monorepo basert på React og Typescript.
About the job (English)
Jottacloud is a growing Norwegian tech company, with revenue expected to surpass NOK 100 million by the end of 2024. We are now looking for our new CTO, who will play a key role in preparing the company for further scaling.
The CTO will be responsible for our technology strategy and the entire development team. The role reports to the CEO and is part of Jottacloud's management team.
The following areas will be important for the CTO we are looking for:
Organization – Structure the development teams to improve efficiency, collaboration, and scalability. Identify roadblocks and friction in our current workflows and make the necessary adjustments. Develop plans for how team organization will evolve and scale up as we grow further.
Architecture – Assess how our services are structured and communicate to improve reliability and scalability as we develop new features and improve existing ones.
Security – Strengthen the features which make Jottacloud a smart cloud storage our customers can trust. Monitor and adapt to increasing and more sophisticated cyber threats.
Talent – Establish principles for retaining existing talent by providing valuable career growth opportunities. Recruit new, high quality talent to the company as we grow.
Business – Jottacloud has several business partners, each with its own configuration of the product and apps. This adds a certain complexity that the CTO must manage both technically and commercially. As part of the job, you will meet both strategic decision-makers and technical personnel from our partners.
Quality – Improve how we work with QA, processes, time management, and prioritization to ensure that technical output is timely and robust.
Technology – Consider what stacks, languages, and frameworks the development teams use, and assess any changes that would enable teams to improve productivity and robustness. Supply teams with all necessary and relevant tools, and incorporate AI into the development of code.
Coding – Although the CTO's day-to-day work will focus on long-term and high-level stuff, there will occasionally be a need to jump into the code or engage in technical discussions about it. We are looking for a candidate who has been a developer not too long ago.
Leadership – Steer the development team in the right direction and motivate team leads and developers to give their best for Jottacloud. Our CTO should enjoy working with people and lifting others up.
Value Chain – Strengthen the way development relates to and collaborates with other functions in the company in an effective way. Especially the structure between product, technology, and design.
Scaling – Ensure that we think about scaling throughout all these areas, to prepare the company for the next phase of our growth journey.

We continuously work to keep our tech stack modern and relevant. All our apps for Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux are native and use the latest vendor APIs. Our backend is built on microservices in Java, Golang, and Python, communicating via Kafka and gRPC. The APIs are used by both our own apps and web apps, which are SPAs built from a monorepo based on React and TypeScript.

The product is sold both directly under our own brand and as a white label through large, international partners like Elkjøp, Telia, and OBOS.
About the company
The product and brand Jottacloud are owned by the company Jotta AS, where also this position will reside. Jotta AS currently has 39 employees and is centrally located downtown Oslo. The company had a turnover of 89 MNOK in 2023 and has grown approximately 10–15% per year over the past few years.
About the group
Jotta AS is the largest company in the Nordic software group Hawk Infinity Software, which consists of companies with a range of products related to cloud storage, file transfer, and workflow. Most of the companies have entered the group through M&A over the last few years, and it’s expected that the group's growth and acquisition activity will continue. The total revenue for the operating units was over 290 MNOK in 2023. The group has 130 employees and is controlled by the investment company Hawk Infinity.
