Need to have
Possesses a relevant M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field (Marine, Structural, Energy, Process Engineering).
Comfortable using AI tools/copilots and keen to apply them to engineering work to work smarter.
Must be based in Norway and legally authorized to work for the full duration of the program.
Strong English communication skills and willingness to learn Norwegian.
Willingness and ability to travel offshore sporadically.
A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical conduct, aligning with Aker BP's SAFER values and safety-first culture.
Demonstrates a strong ability to apply mechanical engineering principles to diagnose and solve complex real-world operational challenges, focusing on pragmatic outcomes.
Nice to have
Genuine curiosity about how mechanical equipment works and fails, preferring to solve real physical problems.
Relevant practical experience (internships, thesis) in oil & gas, energy, maritime, or process industries, especially related to rotating machinery, cranes/lifting, structures, materials, integrity, or reliability.
Working knowledge of engineering software (e.g., CAD, FEM) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Power BI) and exposure to SAP or condition-monitoring principles.
Clear and concise communication skills, comfortable engaging with technical and operational teams.
Ability to cope with ambiguity and incomplete data in a fast-paced operational environment.
